Parasailing

Sunday, August 5, 2012

My man's birthday is next weekend, but we are going to our sweet cousin Kaitlin's wedding all day so we decided it would be best to celebrate him a week early.
We both had never been Parasailing before and I had seen ads for this place really close so I thought that would be fun. Saturday we woke up and went to breakfast at our favorite place M Street Kitchen (the breakfast tacos are foodgasmic..yeah I just said that). I wanted to surprise him and I kept on making him try to guess and he was absolutely clueless. ha! When he finally figured it out he was so excited and had a perma-smile on his cute face (but when does he not?)

 Taking off.
Touchdown in the water: then completely slowed the boat down so that our feet would dip in the water and as soon as we would touch, they went full throttle and we flew back up in the air immediately. Whew! That's when I got butterflies the most.
This pic is my fav, but the guy zoomed in so much and with an iphone, it is a given that those won't come out clear.

We were surprised at how peaceful and quite it was when you were up there. (800ft)
And I kind of loved doing it over a place where we live because you could see EVERYTHING and knew what you were looking at.

Happy early birthday my love!

Summer Update

Sunday, August 5, 2012

I have no idea who still reads this, but that's ok. I want to document what is going on in our lives for record purposes:)
This summer has been a little different that usual..I won't get into all of it, but basically J's current job owns him and we really only see each other on the weekends. His job pretty much owns him year round, but since it is summer I am THAT much more annoyed about it. That being said, we LIVE for the weekends and try to jam pack those days into non stop summer fun.
Get ready for picture overload.

We had our 2nd annual LeSueur reunion last weekend & it was a blast.
We camped on the beach at Del Mar in Oceanside and it was picture perfect.
It was so fun..I just wish it was a week long instead of just the weekend. But I'll take what I can get:)
Nothing like camping on the sand: going to bed and waking up to the sound of waves = heaven.

I REALLY really love my sisters. They are simply the best.

It is a blessing and curse that we live so close to this delicious gold mine.
Next time you're in LA, stop by for a scoop of heaven on a cone.
(a bit pricey, but what in LA isn't these days..sigh)
 Saturdays. Beach. All. Day. Long.
Growing up we always went to movies and concerts at Mission Viejo Lake. There was nothing more fun than sitting on the grass on a summer night with blankets and food and watching a movie under the stars. I was determined to find the best "movie in the park" vendor and this particular one did not disappoint. A live band started off the night while food trucks were lined up to grab a bite to eat. We love us some food truck street food.
The movie featured was Twilight (I know, I know) but it wasn't bad, it was actually quite comical and we enjoyed the whole thing! (jason really got into it..but don't tell him I said that;)
Obviously we make our monthly (or more) weekend trips down to our hometowns.
(FYI people always like to tease us about going down so often, but when both your families are from there, and we both have fairly large families there is ALWAYS something going on especially in the summer..another blessing/curse in our life, but I look at it more as a blessing :)

This is my pretty friend Courtney. I love when she takes sick days to go to shop and go to the beach with me all day! She's da best.

the 4th!

Thursday, July 5, 2012

It really is the best holiday. I look forward to this day every year, but I must admit that this year was the COLDEST 4th to date - at least where we were.
The sun did not even show it's face for one minute yesterday.
So the typical warm, sunny, beachy holiday was still spent at the beach with family & friends, but we were in our sweatshirts the whole time.
But I can't complain, we still had a good time and I still was able to be with my man with no work distractions for the WHOLE day.
It was nice:)

The first year we were married we were on our honeymoon during the 4th, last year we did it with my family, so this year it was the Kimball's turn to have us for the holiday. So we drove down to Laguna and enjoyed it with them! It was weird not being with my family and I missed them a lot, but I'm grateful that I have another fun family to be a part of too.
It's a win, win.
Played some volleyball at Emerald Bay.
I was asked to bring some desserts for dinner & came up with these easy things thanks to pintrest.
(I'm talking 25 minutes or less easy. & they were gone in less than 10 minutes. I am mental noting these for next year..or pinning them..either way I'm saving this ;)

Of course we color coordinated our pants. Why not?
Waiting for fireworks! I know Jason looks funny in this, but he has a problem of keeping his eyes open in pictures especially when there is a flash involved, so this was the best we could do.

You can't see it, but our legs are covered in goosebumps.
Hoping next year, the sun will grace us with it's presence..
as well as the rest of this summer.

Happy 4th!!

oh & ps. I woke up this morning with my voice completely gone.
That means we partied too hard..or I have a viral infection.
I wish I could say it was the first one...but I can say the partying didn't help my throat at all either. ;)

2 years

Has it really already been 2 years?
 You are the best thing.
I love you everyday.

A half

Tuesday, June 19, 2012

This past weekend was our long awaited half marathon up in Ventura.
This was my second and Jason's first.
I was so proud of him for doing it - without training, at all! (boys blow my mind sometimes)
It was overcast and cool - perfect running weather & the smallest race I've ever been a part of, only about 200 people ran it in total. I kinda loved how small it was.
We ran along the PCH and watched the surfers the whole way.
It was great.
 Just a little exhausted...
Here is a picture of my hair in my last race where I had it in a ponytail. It became a huge knot from getting tangled by the sweat of my back so this time I decided it would be best I ran with a braid. Still got pretty crazy, but it did the trick for me.

Thinking of running another one September 15th.
In ventura again, but a different course...any takers??

Girls Weekend Trip

Monday, June 11, 2012

Girls weekends trips are so fun. Especially when you are with some of your best friends.
I haven't seen my favorites in about a year, so it was due time.
They all live in Provo, so we decided to meet in the semi-middle in Vegas.
Vegas is not my favorite place to go, but when you go with these fun girls it makes it all worth it:)

Our weekend consisted of serendipity, girl talk, pool, swimming, laying out in 100 degree weather, more girl talk, temple sesh, dinner at Grand Luxe, and even more girl talk. We were planning on going shopping, but there wasn't enough time. I was there for a total of 24 hours and it was all worth it.
Love my girls. Already can't wait until next year.

Born & Raised

Monday, June 4, 2012

Are you getting tired of my beach posts yet?
I've noticed those are the pictures I post the most, and I can't help it. It's our favorite place to be and it is where we have had some of our most memorable and important moments at together.
Whenever we have free time, we don't even have to ask what the other wants to do - we already know the answer.
Not to mention, we have been born & raised on the sand & in the water.
The ocean is in our blood, so let the beach posts continue.
