This year our family went up to Lake Arrowhead to spend a few days of quality time together.
it was so much fun, I never wanted it to end!

last week, piper and i went up to washington to visit my grandparents.
we only went for four days, but it was so fun to be up there.
growing up, we spent time up there every summer and i have so many memories of that beautiful place.
it was also so fun for my grandparents to meet one of their great granddaughters. that reunion was so sweet to see.
while we were there we went on walks, went running, went to riverfront park, watched an imax movie (piper watched the whole thing), went to lunch, had dinner outside in the backyard every night, played games (booray- a new favorite), went to the river, paddle boarded, visited with cousins, and enjoyed the summer days up there in the green trees.
we missed our daddy, but overall, it was a wonderful little trip:)

the boobooz is 10 months!
(on the 5th)
she is so busy..always on the move and always getting into something.
she talks all the time and loves to use that pointer finger of hers.
she loves to eat whatever we are eating and she is actually really good at chewing..even though she doesn't have many teeth.
speaking of teeth, her first 2 bottom teeth finally made an appearance!
she's seemed fine with them..hasn't been too cranky.
went on her second big trip on a plane..we flew up to spokane, washington to visit with my grandparents.
it was so much fun and she did so great.
she has mastered crawling up the stairs and can do it so fast.
she is a crawling machine.
can understand a few things we say like: "no", "come here", "hi & bye", and loves to imitate us.
she started waving and it's my new favorite thing.
loves the beach.
pulls herself up on everything and can walk while holding whatever she's holding onto.
takes 2 naps a day.
because she's so mobile, she seems to be bonking her head, running into things, falling down, etc. more often than not. but she rarely cries about it. she just gets up and keeps on moving.
loves to do whatever we are doing.
loves listening to me when i'm talking to someone on speakerphone.
has become so cuddly.
still loves to give big kisses.
laughs all the time..a few sundays ago i had to take her out of sacrament meeting because she was laughing too much/too loud. haha it was funny.
these pictures are getting harder and harder to take because she won't sit still.
you should see/hear the things I'm doing behind the camera to get her to sit there and smile.
lets just say i was sweating by the end of this little photo shoot. haha

Piper celebrated her first fourth of July!
Being one of my favorite holidays, I was so excited to experience this day with my girl.
We went to Emerald Bay to hang out with the Kimball clan, and my family came too!
It was so great.
And the weather and water were so perfect.
Piper partied all day and passed out during the fireworks.
I was anxious to see how she'd react to the fireworks, but she didn't mind them one bit.
She just sat back and watched them..they even put her to sleep!
I came home with my skin a little darker, my hair a little salty, and my feet a little sandy.
Is there anything better?
Not really.

NINE MONTHS already!
i looove this age. my favorite so far.
piper is such a mover and so active. she loves to play with her toys and scoot and roll around.
in fact! she took her first crawling "steps" yesterday!!
she hasn't completely committed to crawling on all fours just yet, but she can do it!
she'll do it for a little bit and then end up back on her stomach and army crawl to where she wants to go.
she is still a great eater..although she has a new trick where she spitting her food out.
it's really cool...NOT.
she say "mama" all day long, but I'm not sure she has made the connection that I am mama.
but she loves to give big open mouth slobbery kisses that are my favorite.
she is pretty jumpy, meaning she gets scared by things easily (just like me)
if she sitting by the window and a car drives by or if she hears a loud noise, she totally jumps and starts kicking her feet.
sometimes it scares her so much she cries for a second. haha
she is down to 2 naps a day.
she started "dancing" she does a little head bob and shakes from side to side.
it's the best.
she loves peekaboo.
she looooves to laugh really hard.
she loves seaweed and will find it at the beach and just play with it forever.
she gets really excited over things pretty easily.
she loves to walk while we hold her hands.
she is starting to looove the ocean water. it used to scare her, but now she charges it.
we took her in with us on the 4th. well not ALL the way in, but about waist deep.
she celebrated her first fourth of july!! and loved watching the fireworks.
halfway through them, she completely passed out. (the day long partying wore her out)
she's getting a tan line from her bathing suit and it KILLS me.
she's aggressive. grabs and pulls everything in sight. (including other babies)
is eating more than just baby food...graham crackers, blueberries, watermelon..
the love that we have for this sweet little girl is indescribable.
