Feeling Lucky

Friday, July 22, 2011

I feel blessed & lucky today.
The reason? Because of friends.
And I feel particularly blessed to have two of the most brave & strong girls as some of my bests.
True friends. There for you through it all.
These two...
Last night, we finally got together. It hasn't been JUST US since, well, since we all lived with each other back in good ole Rexburg.
We were roomies since day one.
(& to back-track a little..I met these 2 ladies at EFY when we were 14. Cute, I know.)
I am missing the roomie days today just because of them.
Low maintenance, drama free, & easy going -- my kind of girls.
& can't forget to document our infamous dance routine that we liked to do at every single dance party.
(besides the middle picture)
HAHA. Hilarious.

Love them.

DIY Exfoliator

Tuesday, July 19, 2011

Let's face it..
{no pun intended}
I LOVE skin care products. I am a sucker for them & I probably have 10 different washes to choose from.
I can be in any store that carries anything skin care and take my sweet time comparing and contrasting ingredients.
But nothing is better than a DIY wash, mask, exfoliator.

What you'll need:
2 tbsp Oatmeal
1 tbsp Baking Soda
warm water
Simply add oatmeal & baking soda together.
Then, add a small amount of water to make it pasty. (be careful not to add too much)
Use fingers to rub face in circular motions for 1-2 minutes.
Wash off with warm water & pat dry.

Benefits of Ingredients
Oatmeal - remember when you had chicken pox & your mom put you in an oatmeal bath? The reason: oatmeal is very healing and soothing. It is one of the most popular natural & effective ingredients for your skin. Not only is it ultra moisturizing, it also helps to gently clear dirt & grime from your pores leaving your face smooth & clean.
Baking Soda - it works as a fighting agent. Think of it as a little Pac Man...eats away all your dead skin and dirt.

**I love the combo of these two.

i LOVE the fourth.
we started out our weekend in laguna at the beach for a good 8+ hours straight.
it was heavenly.
full of surfing, stand up paddle boarding (my personal fav), laying out, reading, & bonzai bowls.
oh & dont worry, i stepped on a sand shark while swimming.
really cool.
not.
sadly, i took no other pics that day.
but we spent the whole day with jason's fam & loved it :)

Sunday, we headed to MV to hang with mine.
another day full of working out, beach, swimming, surfing, bbq, & of course, fireworks!
i'd say he got his fill of surfing for the day. a good 5 hrs.
so lucky to have these ladies in my life. they're simply the best.
& don't even get me started on these 5 babes.
are they not the cutest?
hope you had a happy holiday!
