El Capitan

Monday, March 28, 2016

I'm pretty sure one of my favorite places I've been to thus far is El Capitan.
It's glamorous camping = glamping.
It is just 20 minutes north of Santa Barbara and it is soo beautiful.
It's nice because it's about a 3 hr drive, which is not too far, but far enough away to make you feel like you really got away.
We went with about of other family friends and it was so nice and so much fun.
The weather was misty and cool the whole time, which I LOVED.
We made tin foil dinners, sat around the fire and talked, boys surfed, went to the zoo, ate at the cafe, fed the llamas and goats, got some yummy ice cream, had dutch oven cobbler, and enjoyed every second.
We've have been before, but this time we decided to stay in a cabin and it was the best.
it was pretty much a hotel room..bathroom/shower, kitchen, heater, etc.
Don't think we'll be able to go back to the tents after that! (there at least)
It's kind of a magical place up there and it was so green and the plants were so lush!
We made a couple stops on our way up, which I'm so glad we did! One of the stops, we stopped in Malibu and Jason took Piper surfing. There were tears and smiles - which was to be expected.
Cutest thing ever.
It was such a fun trip.
Already can't wait for next year!
